Richardo
Angel Norte uses art to unify and elevate what is common to humanity.
Beginning with the figure, he adds elements of myth and transcendence that
empower his subjects' as heroic symbols of valor and beauty. As a younger
artist he was inspired by classical art in the Smithsonian Institution. As
an older art artists he melds his appreciation of technical mastery with
love of expression through abstraction. This mix of representational
sensibilities gives way to a broader conversation that regards human
existence as a spiritual and physical entity. "It is a world between the
spiritual and physical, a timeless place within our history as humans"
says Norte of the space in which he works. His bronze sculptures are
excellent examples of master craftsmanship. Inspired by Rodin and
Michelangelo, his technique exhibits a highly developed study of
craftsmanship and the figure. Trained at the Academy of Art College in San
Francisco, he is a member of the National Sculpture Society.
